Day 4, 5, 6

Thanksgiving day was spent in Alcapulco with a tour guide trip to the local highlights. He drove us through the local market with meat, chicken and vegies all in the open, including local flies.
That night at dinner we all wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving day with a traditional turkey dinner, but when we looked at the menu, Shirley was the only one to pass up the Lobster tail. A meal ending of pumpkin pie made us feel like we were back in the States.

Has anyone heard of the Gulf of Ta'wa'na'peck? We were introduced to the Gulf that night when a big storm almost magically occurred. The captain told us that we would encounter heavy seas and winds to 40K before we went to bed. Well, that was just the beginning. An announcement came in the middle of the night from the Captain saying that the winds were about 80K and the seas 7 to 8 meters high. That translated is 21 to 24 feet high. When you see water covering your window from time to time, and when we are on deck 5, you know things were exciting.
The next morning the Captain announced the winds actually got has high as 90Knots.
That was certainly exciting. Rosie took her Ginger that night. The rest of us were feeling fine, but the dinning room was mighty empty that next morning.

We´re now at a hotel in San JuanDel Sur, Nicaragua at a local hotel, the Victoriano Hotel. A very small port just south of Granada. The hotel was nice enough to sell us 1 hour of time for $10. There is no Internet Cafe here, the town has a population of 20,000.

Pray for Rosie, tomorrow we´re taking her on a zip line at 7 a.m. in the morning.
HI TO ALL

  1. Seven a.m. is cruel and unusual punishment.
Why is Shirley using hotel Internet instead of ship's Internet?

  2. Yep, you can now say that you have experenced a twanapecker, apparently the this time of the winds can go from 0 to 60 in a matter of hours. It's written up in a couple of crusing rags as a really nasty place for yachts because of the lack of ports and the high winds. Im guessing they were offshore? BTW Check your Email Oscar is having Issues. Skype me if you can BMS.survey
